The shopping center investor Deutsche EuroShop AG raised its stake in the City-Point Kassel by 50 percentage points to 90% effective from the beginning of 2009. The Company took over the shares from Arcandor AG. The investment volume including the assumed debts amounts to approximately EUR 53 million.
The shopping center was opened in 2002 and offers space for more than 60 specialized shops on five levels with approx. 29,500 sqm lettable space (approx. 20,000 sqm sales area). 220 parking spaces are available to customers. Approximately 800,000 people live in the center’s catchment area.
Deutsche EuroShop is Germany’s only public company, that invests solely in shopping centers in prime locations. The MDAX-listed Company currently has equity interests in 16 European shopping centers in Germany, Austria, Hungary and Poland.
